Q. Connecting to MySQL from my computer.
A. We cannot allow connections to the MySQL servers from outside of our network.
Allowing inbound traffic to the MySQL server from outside our network is extremely dangerous given that, by it's nature, the database contains so much sensitive information.
This rule applies to all websites hosted on our shared servers. If you have a dedicated or VPS (Virtual Private Server), this does not apply, you will simply need to create a MySQL user with permissions to connect from the public IP address your PC is located.
